Tetris

The Game Boy version of Tetris plays identically to versions of Tetris released on other platforms. A pseudorandomsequence of "tetrominos" -shapes composed of four square blocks each - fall down the playing field. The object of the game is to manipulate these tetrads, by moving each one sideways and rotating it by 90 degree units, with the aim of creating a horizontal line of blocks without gaps. The player can normally see which block will appear next in a window off to the side of the playing field, but this feature can be toggled during the game. Points are awarded based on the current level and the number of lines cleared, and the level increases each time the player clears ten lines.

When one or more such lines are created, they disappear, and the blocks above (if any) move down by the number of lines cleared. As the game progresses, the tetrominos fall faster, and the game ends when at least part of a tetromino extends beyond the top of the playfield when set in place.

Guitar Hero

The gameplay is similar to other music and rhythm video games, in that the player must press buttons on a game controller in time with scrolling notes on the game screen to complete a song. The guitar peripheral has five different-colored fretbuttons near the nut of the guitar neck, and a strum bar and a whammy bar on the body of the guitar. The game supports toggling the handedness of the guitar, allowing both left-handed and right-handed players to utilize the guitar controller.

The player is awarded points for correctly hitting notes, chords and sustains. The player can also increase a score multiplier by playing a series of consecutive notes successfully. A "Rock Meter" tracks the player's performance based on success or failure of hitting notes, and if the meter drops too low the song will prematurely end in failure for the player.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, often called THPS3 or Tony Hawk 3, is a video game in the Tony Hawk's series. This allowed for much longer combos than in the previous two games, where landing in a quarterpipe would finish a combo. The game also added hidden combos. It was developed by Neversoft and published by Activision in 2001 for the Nintendo GameCube, Game Boy Color, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation. It was the first game released for the PlayStation 2 supporting online play, and the last game released on the Nintendo 64 in the United States. In 2002, it was published for the Nintendo 64, Xbox, Microsoft Windows and Game Boy Advance.

This game saw the introduction of the revert, a trick that enabled vert combos to be tied together with a manual, by tapping a button when landing in a quarterpipe.

Metal Slug

Metal Slug 3D maintains many features from the 2D entries; characters use an arsenal of various guns, grenades and explosives, and vehicles. The game also introduces full three-dimensional movement to the series to coincide with its 3D presentation, which uses super deformed characters.
Each character begins with a full proficiency in different categories. For example, Marco starts off with a full Hit Rate skill while Fio starts with a completely upgraded Pellet skill.
Another new feature is a grade system, which ranks the player according to their performance on each of the game's 12 levels.

Upgrades and customization are some of the largest new features. Players can upgrade each character's combat abilities, categorized into Pellet, Power, Hit Rate, and Machine. Playing through the game also awards Skill Points to the player, which can be used to upgrade 4 other abilities, which affect the amount of damage a character can withstand, their ability to evade enemy attacks, and more.
These abilities allow characters to increase the damage, "splash" radius, and accuracy of their weapons and vehicle handling, respectively.

Splintercell

The primary focus of the gameplay is stealth, with heavy focus on light and darkness.Kombayn Nikoladze- The main villain of the story. He is the President of Georgia who wants to bring down America with his power and resources. He launches a technological war on the U.S. The player is encouraged to move through the shadows for concealment whenever possible. The game displays a "light meter" that reflects how visible the player character is to enemies, and night vision and thermal vision goggles to help the player navigate in darkness.
The game heavily encourages the use of stealth over brute force. Although Fisher is usually equipped with firearms, he carries limited ammunition and is not frequently provided with access to additional ammo. The player begins most missions with a limited supply of nonlethal weapons in addition to Fisher's firearms, a suppressed FN Five-Seven pistol as well as a suppressed FN F2000 assault rifle, which includes a scope and a launcher for some of the less-lethal devices such as "sticky shockers" and CS gas grenades.

Sam Fisher- The player character. He is a seasoned veteran of Black Ops, working for the N.S.A.
Irving Lambert- The link between agents, like Fisher, and the commanders of Third Echelon. He contacts the player with new information, objectives, and instructions periodically throughout a mission.
He is killed by a Russian mercenary in the Kalinatek level Nuclear Power Plant level in the PS2 version".

Dynasty Warriors 3

In Dynasty Warriors 3 the player takes control of an officer and must attempt to defeat the enemy commander. To make this possible, officers and commanders have superhuman abilities and have the capability to kill hundreds of enemy soldiers per stage. The player must make their way through the stage defeating soldiers and enemy officers while trying to keep their commander alive. As well as hundreds of soldiers in each stage, there are stage specific events to complete that can help the player's army and raise their morale. A higher morale means allied soldiers will attack more frequently and will be more likely to follow through with their combination attacks.

The main play mode of the game is Musou mode, the story mode of the Dynasty Warriorsseries. Each playable character of the three main nations have their own Musou mode which consists of a number of stages that resemble events in Romance of the Three Kingdoms. The Musou mode for each character is a linear story where the user cannot change the how the story progresses. The story progression for Cao Cao, Liu Bei and Sun Jian and officers from their respective kingdoms have the closest relation to the Romance of the Three Kingdoms story.
Initially there are 9 available characters to play as and new characters can be unlocked by performing special events during battle or simply meeting them during battle. When the next level of weapon is obtained, its strength is greater than the level below it and adds one extra attack to the player's maximum number of attacks. Each playable character has their own unique weapon that can be upgraded and allows for a maximum of 4 levels of weapon.
